What Is This?

 Synergy is an often over-used word, but it is one that applies here. Joining the visual arts with the written word can often produce very powerful effects.

 Especially today, when it is more important than ever to get the word out about the wonders of Florida, this project can effect a real change in perception. Yes, Florida is about tourism, but there is so much more...

 Artist and writers accepted the challenge and produced works which reflect a unique perception of what Florida is really all about. The result is an exhibit of 69 works of fine art and a book.

The development of this exhibition opportunity is a
direct result of the cooperation between the
Strawbridge Art League and:

    of American Pen Women

Professor of Art at Seminole Community College. Her statement:
"The artist's response to nature can heal and refuel the viewer with fresh sensory perceptions and new visions. In Florida Florida Florida, the sunlit patches on a gator or pathway, a glimpse of a tranquil, reflective moment by the sea, and the vitality of a relaxed outdoor lifestyle are interpreted in both a visual and literary manner. This collaborative effort has prompted a newly sensitized response by both artists and writers to familiar subject matter, making us appreciate anew our abundant resources."
